Looking good the union is alive again
only a matter of time til the MIA emblem disappears now that we're active again. Been some action in the league lately The Als finally got beat. Some new members to welcome
Been MIA since April should I let the union Die?
why bother? It's been a month since anyone else has bothered to even start a thread. does no one else care about the CFL?
I won't keep this up just to amuse myself If no one else cares I have unions in them where other people actually show up that I can try to keep alive. No one else tries before long here I'll let this place die its natural death. Too bad, had such promise.

Maybe we could add hockey and lacrosse as subjects.
I would hesitate to add NFL. There are quite a few NFL unions out there already and those I have spoken to seem to hold Canadian football in pretty low esteem. They evidently don't know the history of American football. lolz The only person I have on my ignored list is one who sent my a nasty PM about the CFL union, I've had similar comments from other American football fans so I'm hesitant to approach anyone who I know is an NFL fan for this league. The reason I'm not in favour of combining is that I'm not a particular fan of the NFL, if I can't get the CFL if watch the AFL (Australian Football League) via Big Pond- only cost $40.00 American for the season, but forces me to stay up because it is broadcast live in Australian time.
MIA - Summer Months???
The CFL Regular Season is in full swing....and surprisingly...no one seems to care on here!!!
U.S. Falls to Canada in ILF Championship Game
After tournament and goal and assisst leader Michael Powell slipped on the turf and injured his leg late in the second half with the score still close the Americans were not able to stay competetive and had their 38 game streak stopped by Canada as they lost the Championship in London. The U.S. men's national team had its 38-game winning streak snapped with a 15-10 loss to host Canada in Saturday's championship game of the 2006 International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) World Championships. The Americans, who were gunning for their seventh straight ILF title, suffered their first loss since a 17-16 overtime setback in the 1978 final, also against Canada.
Leading 9-8 after three quarters, Team Canada seized control of Saturday's championship showdown by outscoring Team USA 6-2 in the fourth quarter, with Gary Gait netting all four of his goals in the quarter. Scott Urick paced Team USA with three goals and Ryan Powell added two goals and two assists.
While it had long been a matter of pride that the American national team was winning the ILF Championship, it must be noted that the American Universities are actively recruiting Lacrosse players from Canada the same as they are hocky players. Lacrosse historically got fewer scholarships than hockey in the past, but with the rising popularity of the sport that has been changing over the years.

Damon Allen Returns but John Avery is out
But the Argos lose anyway 28-8 as he threw for 256 yards on 16 of 33 passing but was picked off 3 times by the Lions on his first start since the broken finger suffered on the 3d play from scrimmage on the opening game of the season. Now John Avery has a left leg issue, it was injured in practice earlier during the week and is replaced by Jeff Johnson.
Ricky Williams out too now.
Damon Allen already out with a broken finger, in Week 6 action Ricky Williams suffered a broken arm on the last play of the second half when blindsided by Scott Schultz of the Roughriders. Pinball Clemons would not specify which bone was broken or how long Williams would be out of action. On the plus side, the Argos did manage to hold on to achieve a victory. Eric Crouch played well in his debut and Jeff Johnston looked good at running back.
North American Indoor Football League?
North American Indoor Football League
The North American Indoor Football League was a league that was scheduled to begin play of Canadian football in February 2005 in fourteen Canadian cities.
As in the Canadian Football League, the league would have played with only three downs to advance the ball ten yards in order to retain possession, as compared to the four-down American football game. The championship game was scheduled to be played in June.
The 14 teams that were to compete in this league were:
East Division:
Frederiction Feud
Halifax Havoc
Montreal Machete
Ottawa Omega
Quebec Quantum
St. John's Storm
Toronto Terror.
West Division:
Calgary Crusade
Edmonton Extreme
Regina Rage
Saskatoon Swarm
Vancouver Victory
Victoria Valor
Winnipeg War
In February 2005, it was announced that the league would be on hiatus until 2006. It seems doubtful if it will ever be truly realized, at least by the current ownership.
It is now July of 2006 and nothing has been heard of from the NAIFL, so I believe they have joined the ranks of the defunct.
Their one year has come and gone and still they are gone. the website-naifl.net is now empty where once it had at least it said "under construction"

Need more posters
Got to have more folks doing some posting out there so we can get rid of our MIA emblem. Until we are more active in all aspect union activity that MIA emblem is going to keep dogging us, so let's get rid it, eh?
I'm really not trying to ruffle any feathers, its just that we're still MIA
With my comparisons of the Red Ensign vs. the Maple Leaf Flag, questions about Captain Canuck comix, and the Terry Evanshen story, though I do find Terry 's story to be fascinating as Mr. Spock would put it.
